And it is NOT OK Mr/Ms/Miss Mrs Cocoa to suggest that - as has been written on another proboard - that I took part in any way in respect of setting up this board and I hope Crusoe will make this clear here. I also look forward to your apology. I have never plagiarized anything in my life and I resent such suggestions being mooted on any public message oard. may i interrupt your admonition of the suburban ladies, who seem to have gathered momentum - possibly by imbibing a few too many swigs of elderberry wine and apparently embarked on a mass exodus from their little cul-de sacs of existence - to this 'DESERT ISLAND' to fervently defend imagined originality and creativity ... {i forget the statistics... millions of boards ?] ... and greet you from across the sea... n.b. greetings mrs. p - take it easy... [ why does my favourite board akira come to mind ... vacuous being the other favourite off the wall place...
i still enjoy private passions and for music i am currently hooked on late junction [only if Shaheera Asante presents her unusual choices - all four programmes this week were great - "listen again" until monday]... ] good luck crusoe - whoever said a desert island was a peaceful place... i can never remember songtitles - but what was the ditty about mrs. robinson.... oops mixed up ... in your case it would be mrs. crusoe... and then there was billy paul singing about mrs. jones... there must be a song about every lady beseeching you mr. crusoe... anon...

LOL Hello dulcie! No imaginings re originality going on anywhere - just a straight forward reading of the text! I am sad that ideas that were destined for QQR, being played with on QNI were, as the man says, ripped off. Mind you, I’d think of this more as a rip-off of the QNI, if anything, than of QQR: less boards, you know (some people like less boards ).

hello chelsea... your link does not work and i have not seen qni... (although i cannot think what anyone can rip off - as far as i can see a proboard is a proboard is a proboard with minor variations i.e. giving different names to the same things.. ) i just had not seen lawrence jones (in this guise) for a while and thought i blow a kiss across the caribbean... n.b. one of the ways to get stranded on a desert island would be broken down gear of sorts - very unglamorous without soap, water or nailpolish and stilettoes... pirates ahoy - let me know if there are any throats to be cut (desert islands hold not promises of treasure)

I'll choose the rapier, dulcie. Nice to see you after quite awhile now, I thought Desert Islands were supposed to be deserted but at least some of the natives are interesting. It's a pity we should be arguing over one fallen coconut when there are plenty of nuts to go round.

hola - chief upsetter! HA! indeed most times jealousy arises over a lovely pair of coconuts... (the most fantastically rediculous version of this song i ever heard was an impromptu performance by some norwegians on the bbc - definitely would make the top hit lists if they only had the vision to market it) i take your point about a surfeit of nuts and i wonder if you are aware that coucou is part of the staple diet in the islands... i take it your man thirsty is alright too ... (the st. chinian - or was it st. trinian - is undoubtedly keeping you both in good spirits... i wish you well with all these nuts and coucou rum fellows as well as other assorted itinerants... a bientot... & coucou...

It's always nice to have someone only to willing to stir the pot just in case we run out of Coucou.
I beleive that's why Easter Island ran out of inhabitants - a lack of food can turn one man against another. The women are usually first in the pot. Tastes a bit like pork apparently.

[/sub]] good luck crusoe [/quote] Thank you so much, for your good wishes, Dulcinea. And for your interesting post: not that I can claim to understand quite all of it, although I’m sure that Dr. Jones (a very clever man) will. And it looks like the Upsetter is well versed in these things, too. There is some wonderful music on “Late Junction”, although I never find the jokes as good as Mark Radcliffe’s. whoever said a desert island was a peaceful place... Who indeed? To be honest, I think we might still be having our shipwreck.

My, my, Portishead. How intimate.
Puts the idea of a shipwreck in a new light, though.
long may it continue

Shipwrecks yield Ah yes, what a rewarding treat. Thank you, Nurse. They say that red wine should be part of one's daily diet, hence, I try to fit a glass in with each meal. ;D Just simply drop it? I didn't think it was that 'sort' of an island.

Don't you mean you try to fit in a meal with each glass? Thanks for the correction, Nurse. Everytime I've tried to fit a meal into a glass, it ends up making quite a mess. Is it too late to I change my Luxury Item to "rule book"? ;D

Thanks for the correction, Nurse. Everytime I've tried to fit a meal into a glass, it ends up making quite a mess. I did that once, serving salad. Some of it sploshed into the wine glass. This presented a problem. To drink the crunchy wine or tip it into the salad bowl? Change whatever you want my dear. Who is to stop you?
