Welcome to the island.
Some time ago the BBC had a messageboard devoted to its “Desert Island Discs” interview programme, which always provided interesting conversation, loosely based around the programme (often very loosely). Unfortunately the board was shut down but this place is loosely inspired by the spirit of that board.<edit>I have posted to forums on Spoilt Victorian Child, the Quiet Night Inn and QQRenegades since then and, given the convenient nature of their arrangements I have been influenced by them in the preparation of this forum. I have, however, endeavoured to organise this forum in a manner that avoids, so far as possible, direct replication of any of these.<edit>[/i]
Anyway, influences aside we’re all friends here so join in and enjoy.
All the best,
Crusoe.

My dear Luxury Yacht, you are the first other vessel to run aground here: how delightful to see you.
WELCOME
Pull up a porpoise and crack open a coconut.

Hello. I was going to say that this seems like a very civilised place. Except of course that it's quite the opposite. It certainly won't be when Daz turns up

Well thank you for the almost compliment, Ms Yacht. Daz is a busy man: it’s not like him to just turn up, unannounced.
is it?

Hello, Puka. And
WELCOME
I am, however slightly concerned by your name: was it a touch of mal de mer? Never mind, you’re on dry land, now and some rum should settle things down, nicely.

And a hearty WELCOME to Dr. Jones, as well. That’s a fine seafarer’s beard I’m pleased to say, Dr. J

It certainly won't be when Daz turns up Not to worry, Lux. It may take him a while to arrive - the map appeared to be a tad bit complicated. It's not a guide to the stars, you know. Let's just hope he's not marooned en route to the Island via Crusoe Canoe or Kya Kayak.

ALOHA!And thank you for the warm welcome. A nice Caribbean rum sounds quite nice right about now. No need to be concerned about the name "Puka" - all Shell work out for the best in the end.

I've got one too. And I was wearing it this morning. Should we be worried that we all have one? Do you think they might be a variety of Tribble? Yes, can we have a wavy smiley, please, Beak? Ta.

Yikes, are you all clones? Nope, we’re just a bizarre cult. Perfectly harmless, though;).
