I have never succeeded in reading more than a few pages of The Alchemist, and this edition of DID failed to grab my attention too. Though I do seem to recall him saying he was going to hang himself - maybe his luxury should have been a faulty parachute rather than a flight round the island.

Though I do seem to recall him saying he was going to hang himself - maybe his luxury should have been a faulty parachute rather than a flight round the island. I think they’ve all gone mad at R4. They’ve driven devoted listeners away from their awful message boards (anyone taken a look at how awful WOM and QQ are these days?) and now they’re trying to drive away all their listeners with guff like this. Oh dear it was awful and I felt like hanging myself by the time it had finished. How much did it cost to send Ms. Lawley + recording crew to France? This was yet another edition that sounded as thought it was recorded in 1961. Ah yes one nice thing to say, I loved the picture of that beautiful cow on the cover of Atom Heart Mother and I also like Ron Geesin. Sadly I seem to recall that members of The Pink Floyd weren’t too keen on this LP. We need an emergency edition of ‘In The Psychiatrist’s Chair’ with R4 in the chair, so we can get to the root of the problem. I sense tears will be shed when asked: ‘tell me about your childhood’. We all know that R2 is attempting to poach R4 listeners, so perhaps R4 is upset that reciprocity doesn’t appear to apply?

I sense tears will be shed when asked: ‘tell me about your childhood’. ;D Though I should like to call in some of my former bosses at the BBC to talk about why they wanted to work in radio, and anything that might have disillusioned them, if anything ever did. I switched off DID today as soon as "The Long and Winding Road" started: I didn't care what happened afterwards. I had a job application to fill in, and a dance list to write. So, yes, my mind was elsewhere and I wasn't really listening: if Mr Coelho had something interesting to say, then someone please tell me and I will make an effort to listen on Friday morning.

’. We all know that R2 is attempting to poach R4 listeners, so perhaps R4 is upset that reciprocity doesn’t appear to apply? Why would they want to do that? They are completeley different kinds of channel, surely? 'Yes, let's try to persuade the listeners that like plays, discussions and other spoken word programmes that they should be listening to cheap pop music instead!' Barmy...
