Really, Blue, you’ve good company, some good books, some good records (presumably) and an abundance of food (assuming you don’t mind seafood and coconut). Why worry about building boats?

Ah well, this is easy:-
“Aunts Aren’t Gentlemen”, “The Inimitable Jeeves”, “What Ho Jeeves”, “Joy in the Morning”, “Jeeves and the Feudal Spirit”, “Pearls, Girls and Monty Bodkin”, “Service with a Smile”, “Much Obliged, Jeeves”, “Stiff Upper Lip, Jeeves”, “Young Men in Spats”, “Very Good Jeeves”…
Oh, hang on, did you say up to ten. OK this could be a bit trickier than I first thought. But, off the top of my head, I’ll have a go at:-
“Imperial Blandings” (an omnibus of "Pigs Have Wings", "Full Moon" and "Service with a Smile") – P.G. Wodehouse
“The Human Factor” – Graham Greene
“The Book of Laughter and Forgetting” – Milan Kundera
“Godel, Escher and Bach an Eternal, Golden Braid” – Douglas R. Hofstadter
“Towards the End of the Morning” – Michael Frayn
“1066 and All That” – Sellars and Yeatman
“The Diary of a Nobody” – George and Weedon Grossmith
“The Papers of A.J.Wentworth, B.A.” – H.F. Ellis
“Offshore” – Penelope Fitzgerald
“The Wisden Collection, Vol. 1” – Ed. Graeme Wright
“Before She Met Me” – Julian Barnes
Well there we are. I’ll probably get home and see all the books I’d forgotten but these are 10 I’d be pretty happy with on a desert island.

Ah... but you see! The beauty of this game is that you can change your choice whenever you come across a new/old gem in your driftwood bookcase.
The true purpose is to point other castaways in the direction of a good read.

. . .Why worry about building boats? To build a warship, and defend my island making sure no one ever disturbs me Hum - thought that was obvious ;D

The true purpose is to point other castaways in the direction of a good read. A good read is it? Try Whitacker's Almanack. Good bloke that Alan Whitacker. The chapter on Precedence and how to address peers of the realm is especially rivetting in case we come across, say, a Privy Counsellor on the island. It is incorrect to use the letters PC after the name in conjunction with the prefix The Right Hon., unless the Privy Counsellor is a peer below the rank of Marquess and so is styled The Right Hon. because of his rank. In this case only, the post-nominal letters may be used in conjunction with the prefix The Right Hon.[/color]

But that's definite point for Whittaker's Almanac from a Post It.

Mermaid, I had to look twice at that Neptune statue. Then I realised it was a cunningly draped bit of, er, drapery. The other fellah, nice. I'll leave it at that. But these immediate responses belittle the sculptor though having said that, any response is better than none? The file Poseidon Adventure. Very exciting in its day. Gene Hackman was good. (of course. name me a duff Hackman movie)
