I always put on weight during holidays too. Its all those full grease-ridden full English breakfasts that do it.
God am I sick of cheap B & B's run by bumptious Blackpool landladies.

Well, I've just had an excellent start to the month with a weekend doing you-know-what in lovely surroundings. I saw lots of people who were very good at you-know-what, and others who did you-know-what in new (to me) and interesting ways, and some who were/did both. There was good beer too, and the sheep's milk ice-cream people were around so I had two ice-creams (for the ice-cream connoisseurs hereabouts, one was tayberry, the other was chocolate with lumps of chocolate in, and both extremely yummy). Moreover I was in the company of some of my favourite people, and one of them may turn out to be my favourite person of all

Well, I've just had an excellent start to the month with a weekend doing you-know-what in lovely surroundings. Lucky you, Lux! The only you-know-what I did in lovely surroundings this weekend were 15 miles along beautiful country lanes in the sunshine. Prob a different you-know-what. We each have different you-know-whats. I don't get nearly enough you-know-what, frankly. I'd like some you-know-what every single day and twice a day at weekends. On special occasions I'd happily you-know-what All Day Long only taking the odd break for food and drink. Wow Lux, is the start of Lux's Amazing Diary?

And? You cannot leave us hanging in mid-air, you know. Oh yes I can Oh, alright then. He's tall, dark and ugly with peculiar teeth (just how I like 'em) and very keen on (and good at) you-know-what and playing cricket. That's yer lot. The rest is subject to change

The only you-know-what I did in lovely surroundings this weekend were 15 miles along beautiful country lanes in the sunshine. Sounds wonderful, Nursie! Oh, I do so agree. I love to you-know-what all day long, (but really only for a maximum of three days in a row) with breaks for food and drink and getting one's breath back. No. You don't really want the ins and outs.* I know 'cos Upsetter told me so. * and back-to-backs, half-gyps, heys, rounds and capers.

I was lucky enough to spend Saturday in very good company as well, although I didn’t do any you-know-whating (assuming that I-do-know-what “you-know-whating” is). We each have different you-know-whats Oh, perhaps I did you-know-what, after all, then. Wow Lux, is the start of Lux's Amazing Diary? What a good idea – we could benefit from an AmazingDiary (especially if Upsetter says we don’t want it )

What a good idea – we could benefit from an AmazingDiary (especially if Upsetter says we don’t want it ) Go on then. You start. Memo to all IslandersJust a wild guess. I doubt if Crusoe will be seen around these parts until Monday or Tuesday next week: he'll be too busy tearing out what remains of his fingernails watching the battle which has now commenced. I don't usually use words like "commence" but "commence" seems to go with "battle". That's probably because it's some ghastly cliché.What follows next at Surrey Cricket Club, however, will not be some ghastly cliché whatever the outcome. Oh! And if Crusoe appears and answers this before next Monday I'll switch to London Pride.

Unless rain stops play, of course. What a good idea – we could benefit from an AmazingDiary Go on then. You start. Oh, OK. This week I have mostly been attending meetings. But I did have a particularly pleasant and sociable evening on Wednesday, involving two ladies and a pub. ...I'll switch to London Pride. A "pint of...", right? Oh, yes please, if you’re offering.

Unless rain stops play, of course. I have to admit that that possibility hadn't occurred to me, Crusoe. Personally I think they are girlieWussies for not playing on in a spot of drizzle. Call themselves Men? Hah. Real Men would play cricket throughout an overhead lightning storm, they would bat and bowl for the Ashes as sharks were circling all around and would continue to shout for LBW even if they'd gone out there without their wellyboots on, for heavens sakes. I was in a pub on Wednesday. There was some bloke there with two ladies, one on either side of the lucky whippersnapper chap. They took photographs of each other, which meant rearranging the chairs, appeared to be having a very intense yet jolly debate about cricket, and one of them (not saying which) got sloshed on half a pint of lager. I assume she was sloshed, because she couldn't follow the cricket debate and kept giggling. (probl. a foreigner).
