I liked it how it was before. Surely the big attraction is that this place is supposedly its own place? Not poached from somewhere else.

And why are there three forums in one section, two in another and only one at the bottom? It looks all wrong to me.

That is my 20 pence worth anyway. FWIW.

Seemed like the shark-infested waters had calmed down a bit, but I'm sure we can bring them back with minimal amount of waves, if the majority so wishes.

And, shouldn't every place have somewhere to store their "Questions, Answers, and Debates" files? Where else would they go?

There were no sharks! Just observations!

The ripples subsided because a change was made to make this board more its own place.

It would be interesting to know how many members are not also members of QQR! I think that is the point.

Why duplicate here what qqr members get there ?

QNI, I think the point is this board is having difficulty finding direction. That's all well and good but why it must take someone elses direction is beyond me. A board finds its own way over time. I was of the mind that this beachy spot was settling into a gaming type board with some chit chat which I liked, personally.
Trying to do debate and get serious all of a sudden just looks like a return to QQR ideas again. I don't like it.

"Let's get real!" Of course, most everyone here found out about the Island by being QQR members. And of course, most everyone here knows everyone else. Why do we need to pretend otherwise?



That board is there, and this board is here; communal members have their choice. Serious discussion has not taken off here, but that's to say someone cannot begin a serious discussion. Anyone can start threads, including guests.

The board seems to have taken direction and attained its own 'flavour', so to speak. If members are comfortable coming here to a tropical-themed board and posting in accordance to how it's already become 'flavoured', where exactly is the problem?

The Beak seemed to think he had copied a bit too closely - that's why there was a bit of an apology and a bit of modification in the first few days of this board.

Dearest qni, the "Debate" part hasn't changed. The only thing I thought would be appropriate was to remove what seemed to be 'negative' about the bottom board because the negativity seemed to be a thing of the past.

I have no idea what all the fuss is about.

The concern here seems a bit petty in my opinion. There have been a couple of wording changes - no major adjustments, and I see no button changes either. In addition, it certainly hasn't affected what the board is about.



I have a suggestion for those concerned. Ask the opinion of some of your non-messageboard friends and family, a spouse, what-have-you. Tell them what the situation is, and maybe you can get an outsider's viewpoint.

But to be honest, if I discuss this with my non-messageboard friends and family, they'll probably laugh and think it's rather ridiculous to be too overly-concerned with, as do I.
