Oh my goodness – talk about cocktail-hour talk!! This really was dreadful. Isn’t it about time somone told the R4 high-ups that Oxford and Cambridge aren’t the only universities in the world? I noticed in tonight’s programme how all the money for this new centre appeared to be coming from grants and not satisfied industrial sources. The ‘aside’ about where the Hydrogen was going to come from for all these cars powered by fuel cells was most revealing.
I really would love to know now many producers and presenters within R4 actually have commercial engineering R&D expereince

I fear that “In Business” suffers the same problem that many weekly factual programmes on R4 do, in that they can only go so far into a subject with the time available to make the programme. This often seems to lead to a rather trite and superficial treatment of what are often very big issues. Although I do find that Peter Day can be a probing and engaging presenter on occasions.
