I’d like to hear an edition of The Archive Hour devoted to the history of air accident investigation. I’d include the crash of the Manchester bound British Midland Canadair C4 Argonaut (Hotel Golf) in this programme.

It’s a very interesting area of study: I’d certainly be fascinated to hear more about the people who carry out this work and how they do it.

It’s a very interesting area of study: I’d certainly be fascinated to hear more about the people who carry out this work and how they do it. I’m not sure where the technical experts are up to in respect of the 747 that exploded (after taking off from New York?) some years back. I recall that it was something to do with the fuel tanks being low, but can’t remember if the explosion was electrostatically induced or some other reason. Come to think of it, there are quite a few recent air disasters that remain a mystery!
