Thinking over the weekend about the forthcoming energy review by the government stimulated thought about the Dounreay Experimental Fast Breeder Reactor (especially the problems of transporting heavy industrial plant up the A9 and the construction of the transmission lines) and the establishment of the Dounreay community would make a good topic for The Archive Hour. The Castle of Mey is also close by, with that interesting plaque at the end of the stimulating Dunnet sands, so there’s loads of material for the programme. Interviews with former Harwell personnel would also be interesting.
One doesn’t hear much talk about The Fast Breeder reactor these days, but it’s clear that it will resurface within the next five years which is another reason why such a programme would be interesting.

P.S. A good excuse to dig out some old Mary Goldring Analysis interviews!
