I enjoyed listening to the item about belts on yesterday’s Woman’s Hour. I’d like to know, though, why there wasn’t any mention of the Snake belt on the programme? I gave my best friend a Snake belt for her birthday some years ago and she still wears it. She says that it compliments all her dresses (including a gorgeous wrap dress) and skirts – both A-line and very long modified maxi-skirts (mini skirts are hidden at the back of her wardrobe and she cries when they catch her eye).
Women and men share shirts, trousers and jumpers, so why not belts? The SB is also adjustable and would be a perfect match for the woman who likes to wear adjustable high heels.
PS The SB is also useful for women with adjustable waists.

What’s a snake belt, Mr Hillman? Is it a belt made out of snakeskin? If so, they may have felt that it was inappropriate to promote the killing of snakes (although this would be a bit odd, because it wouldn’t surprise me if they considered the use of leather belts which have necessitated the death of a cow). Perhaps it’s belt shaped like a snake? If so, perhaps it’s a style that is not currently made (this may not be the case, I really can’t claim to be an expert on belts, least of all women’s belts)? I would suggest writing to the programme about it but doubt you’d get a useful (or even any) response. I’m glad your friend likes her snake belt, HH: you are clearly a person of good taste who knows their friends well. As for women and men sharing belts – I’m not sure any women would want to share my belts. PS The SB is also useful for women with adjustable waists. What an excellent idea for the Christmas season, when so many people’s waists seem to adjust.

What’s a snake belt, Mr Hillman? Is it a belt made out of snakeskin? No Mr. Crusoe - here's some examples: They can also be worn as headbands, ponytail clips, garters (very sexy), securing the lid on a broken suitacase, towing a broken down Honda 50 or securing Pizza boxes on the back of the delivery moped. All the best, Hillman

wow snake belts! they're so cool. I had one when I was a kid and my brothers both had one for school too. Haven't seen them for years - thanks for the memory!
