Some excellent choices, Bodkin. I particularly like numbers 2, 3, 5 and 8.
In addition, I think that the following would be pretty good:-
Dr Lawrence Jones (of course) Andy Kershaw Greg and Charlie Veg (since they’ll need the work, if they’re being made redundant) Prof Laurie Taylor Mark Tully (although his listening may be more international than is ideal for a selection of British programmes) Charlie Gillett Olivia O’Leary

Hope they don't end up on the dole. I'm not too keen on their voices, but at least they don't sound snooty like Sheila Dillon on The Food Programme. Agree with all your choices, especially Charlie Gillett - often listen to him on The World Service in the depths on the night. He's a fine broadcaster and so modest. Paul Jones is another name that drifts into my mind - another very agreeable broadcaster. I'm aware that Bob Harris collects radios, so I'd include him as well. Sorry, never heard of Dr. Jones - has he been on Quote Unquote? What about including Nigel Rees on your list? I find him a most amusing chairman on QUQ.

Poor old Greg and Charlie - … Hope they don't end up on the dole. Me too. Mind you, I guess they are successful greengrocers so they will probably get to spend more time on that. I'm not too keen on their voices, but at least they don't sound snooty like Sheila Dillon on The Food Programme. I know what you mean about Sheila Dillon. It’s a shame that having a very snooty sounding presenter reinforces the perception that good food is an elitist interest when it is of vital importance to all of us. I'm aware that Bob Harris collects radios, so I'd include him as well. What a good idea. Looking at the exhibition, yesterday, I saw Raymond Briggs’ piece, which reminded me that this his choice of luxury, on DID, had been a billiard table with Radio 4 built into the legs, so perhaps he should be allowed onto the list, despite being an “outsider”. Sorry, never heard of Dr. Jones - has he been on Quote Unquote? What about including Nigel Rees on your list? I find him a most amusing chairman on QUQ. I believe that Dr. Jones comes from roughly the same part of the country as Mr Rees so, although I’ve never heard him speak, I’m sure that he sounds almost identical. I’ve no doubt you would be delighted by his jolly banter.
