I dunno if it's relevant, but my first wife, in one of her rare moments of sanity, looked at me fondly and said, as though addressing a lovable, if retarded, Basset Hound... 'Egg Trousers!'
... before wandering off again...

Could she have been commenting on your personal hygiene.
Remember Brian Pringle in The Dustbin Men - he was called Cheese 'n' Egg. Maybe it was because of his unimaginative lunch box.

That was a great series... Graham Haberfield (Gerry Booth in Coronation Street), Brian Pringle, Trevor Bannister (was he 'Heavy Breathing'? Later Grace Bros' Mr Lucas), John Barratt (Smellie) and Tim Wylton - and their boss, known as 'Bloody Delilah' -- it was ground-breaking stuff, and now it's pretty well forgotten. Originally written by Jack Rosenthal. Sigh.

can't say that i follow your reasoning [if any] I follow it just fine. You see, cheese always goes quite well with a little alcohol, my sweet lil' SPUMANTE.

.... my sweet lil' SPUMANTE. Spumante is muck, Pooksie. Get some Pimm's down you. Perfect for a hot sweltering day such as this. All you need then, are some MCC spats.

Does Pimm's go well with 'cheese', my dear SUGAR COOKIE? ;D Well Nursie, ' NURSIE' is my term of endearment for you. That's not overly "pimm and proper" now, is it? xoxo
