And while I'm here: 1. People who hang about on street corners, and other inconvenient locations. Couldn't they hang about somewhere where they are not obliging others to take a large detour? 2. People who are so inured to the noise made by their unruly children that it doesn't occur to them that their screaming brats are annoying other people and giving them headaches. 3. Your local supermarket acquires a new owner or manager and they rearrange everything. AGAIN.

Women who step off an escalator and then stand stock still gazing around them, oblivious to those piling up behind them... (it usually seems to be women who do this.)
The inconsiderate sod in our village who arranges large firework displays late on summer nights, so that I am woken up by the second coming of the Lufwaffe...

I nominate:- inconsiderate...pedestrians... who...terrorise pedestrians. A few years ago, the congestion on the sidewalks in New York led to a newspaper there suggesting 10 rules for pedestrians. Golden, Number 1 rule in the list was Stay to the right, and the main culprits people who didn't observe this, were considered to be 'Europeans from lands where they drive on the left, i.e. Brits'. However, I don't think 'Brits' stay to the left in the UK either, and therein lies part of the problem on UK pavements, it's every which way in the UK, kamasutra of the high street. As far as I remember, the other New York rules were:
- Don't be a sudden stopper* - Don't crowd the sidewalk, when with others go single file rather than three across - Keep it moving, don't window-shop, don't stand at the corner rubbernecking** - Don't talk and walk, because using a mobile leads to slowing down and meandering - Keep the dog on a tight leash, and never introduce dogs to other dogs - Avoid intentional pushing*** - Do not impede the progress of others - Allow sufficient distance, minimum three steps, before cutting in front of another - Don't get mad at other pedestrians, for you have a common enemy - car traffic
* I suppose this also applies to coming off an escalator, Capt! ** this seems to be a 'pet hate' of others here, but I rather like the slightly immoral sounding term *** French women in French cities are apparently exempt from this ruleAnd then there's the 10 Desert Island rules for pedestrians: 1. Do not try to walk in a straight line around the island, except when leaving the beach bar 2. ...

The dreaded dottirs! Well I'm allergic to dottirs ... and think ... they show a ... certain laziness as a form of self expression and are contagious besides ... spread like a rash, they do ... on messageboards... emails... and even txt messages. Down with Dottirs! They drive me Mad! So there.

inconsiderate cyclists who ride on the footpath and terrorise pedestrians. I feel better for that.Well you knew I'd rise to that bit of bait, Crusoe. I assure you that this wasn’t aimed at cyclists in general, Nurse D. it was provoked by going for a walk and being nearly knocked down by an inconsiderate cyclist who was cycling along the footway. What made it more galling was the fact that the road I was on had a dedicated cycle path marked out. P*nas*nic are CRAP @ After Sales Service! You’re not happy with the service you’ve received, are you? I can pick up on these subtle signs, you know.

Cyclists hate those - I've seen them ride on the pavement until the cycle lane stopeed, and then move onto the road...

I have to say that it's a pity of their after-sales service isn't good, because Panasonic products are often very good indeed.
