An idea for Beak and Beakette, perhaps?
How's about a place for Rants and a corresponding one for Praise?
I think it might perhaps be a handy place to dump exasperation with mega-corporations, poor service, irritating colleagues without the fear of being hunted down in the street; and a place to pass on good advice of having been dealt with or served really well?
I'm mindful of this: Word of mouth is the cheapest and most effective form of advertising. People usually only tell others about cr*p service, not the good stuff.
It might also be cathartic, as long as we don't offend proboards or each other?
might turn out to be fun, too.

That sounds good Nurse - as long as the spirit of the place is respected and we don't go there to beat each other up.

Or perhaps, we can have ONE place for both Praise and Rants, and the rule would be, for every Rant, there must be an equal and opposite Reantion Praise... ? Eh, just a thought. EDIT: Misspeling. I'm a perfcetionist.

Nothing could be further than the thought I had in my mind, Benbers. Just a place to let off steam - about other places, other people, other things in life. Or alternatively, to praise where praise is due. Saves buying "Which?" magazine, I thought.

in any sense revolts me.... in conjunction with the concept of being hunted down is confirmation - yet again - that we inhabit entirely different worlds islands.... however, should the handful of posters on this board have no other outlet for their frustrations and their sanity depend on it... who would i be to question such an avenue of solace on a board which appeared to have been created in a lighthearted vein... yes, i know i am only a guest - and i know ii pays my money and takes my choice at which cafè i have my cappucchino... allez! allez! ... l'Américain, lance allez!

n.b. apart from my above comments, i did rather thought everyone was free to post anything... people will either respond or let threads die... the headings are flexible enough to accommodate all sorts of stuff...

The Oldie board has a section called 'Oldie Information Share' which works quite well. I've certainly benefited from the wisdom of other contributors.
The joy of these boards is that anyone has the freedom to suggest an idea, however brilliant or wacky. If it works - great; if the whole thing sinks without a trace, so be it. It's no big deal.

We’re all friends here, Nurse D.: anyone’s welcome to let off steam anywhere on the island.
