god I hate You and Yours. It's the radio equivalent of smirking. This week they've been on and on about how to be horrible to people who ring on cold calls. Yes of course cold calling phone calls are really annoying, but instead of outlining how not to get them, ie register with the TPS (Telephone Preference Service) , Y&Y encourage people to phone in with 'funny' ways to get rid of the person on the other end.
Don't they realise that in some parts of the country and for some people working in call centres are one of the only viable options of work. They've taken over factory work as this generations low paid work. There's so many of my son's friends working in call centres - and they're not the greatest way to earn a living. If people wanmt to complain they should complain to the company , not take it out on the person at the other end of the line.
Shame on Y&Y. and shame on Y&Y anyway, everyday for trivialising so many issues and then on the same programme making a mountain out of a molehill about some minor scam.
